Location Guidelines

Below are the guidelines for understanding the safety levels, difficulty levels, and size types of abandoned locations on our map. These classifications help you assess the risks and requirements before exploring.

Safety Level Guidelines

  • Safe – The location poses minimal risks. No significant structural issues, hazardous materials, or dangerous elements. Ideal for beginners and casual explorers.
  • Moderate – Some risks exist, such as minor structural damage, mild environmental hazards (e.g., overgrown vegetation, unstable footing), or potential encounters with security. Caution is advised.
  • Hazardous – Significant risks present, including structural instability, toxic materials (e.g., asbestos, mold), deep water, or other dangerous environmental factors. Protective gear and experience recommended.
  • Dangerous – Highly unsafe. Risks may include collapsing structures, extreme environmental hazards, criminal activity, or difficult access (e.g., high security, climbing, confined spaces). Only for expert explorers with proper gear and knowledge.
  • Unknown – Insufficient information about the location's safety. Requires further exploration or reports from visitors.

Difficulty Level Guidelines

  • Easy – Simple to access with minimal physical effort. No special equipment or advanced skills needed. Suitable for all explorers.
  • Moderate – Some obstacles may be present, such as uneven terrain, minor climbing, or careful navigation. Basic urban exploration experience recommended.
  • Challenging – Requires physical effort, climbing, or navigating tight spaces. May involve height exposure, water crossings, or advanced problem-solving. Suitable for experienced explorers.
  • Expert – Demands significant skill and physical ability. Could include extreme climbing, rappelling, confined space entry, or navigating highly dangerous environments. Only for seasoned urban explorers with proper safety measures.
  • Inaccessible – Completely sealed off, too dangerous, or physically impossible to enter without extreme effort, specialized equipment, or illegal entry.
  • Unknown – Difficulty has not been assessed yet. More information needed.

Size Type Guidelines

  • Small – A single small structure, tunnel, or limited space (e.g., an abandoned house, small bunker).
  • Medium – A larger building, tunnel system, or compound with multiple sections (e.g., a warehouse, small factory, mid-sized hospital).
  • Large – A sprawling complex with multiple floors, sections, or widespread ruins (e.g., a multi-building factory, large asylum, underground tunnel system).
  • Massive – An extensive location covering a large area, such as an industrial district, vast cave system, or underground city.
  • Unknown – The size has not yet been determined.
